Zany

Privacy Policy

Zany collects the minimum needed to run a social feed, count creator impressions fairly, and keep the community safe.

Last updated: 20 August 2026

What we collect

  • Account data — email address, username, display name, bio, profile and cover photo.
  • Content — your posts, images, comments, reactions, reposts, bookmarks, follows, blocks and mutes.
  • Impression signals — which posts were actually seen, plus a one-way hashed viewer key derived from your session, IP and browser. We do not store your raw IP address against a post view.
  • Product analytics — page views and key actions (post created, reaction set) used to improve the app.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell your personal data.
  • We do not upload your contacts or read your device files.
  • We do not host or process video.
  • We never expose another user's email address or earnings to you.

Why we process it

To operate your account and feed, to rank and personalise content, to count creator impressions and detect fraud, to moderate reports, and to keep the platform secure and legally compliant.

Cookies and local storage

We store a login session and small preferences (theme choice, feed session key) in your browser. If advertising is enabled, an advertising provider may set its own cookies — those are separate from impression counting.

Who can see what

  • Posts, comments, reactions and profile details are public to anyone who can reach the app.
  • Email, bookmarks, blocks, mutes, notifications, wallet and withdrawal details are private to you.
  • Moderators and admins can see reports, moderation history, and account status — not your password.

Access is enforced in the database with row-level security, so private rows cannot be read even by a crafted request.

Retention

Content stays until you delete it. Deleted posts are removed from the app and drop out of feeds immediately. Impression and earnings records are kept for accounting and fraud review. Deleting your account removes your profile, posts and comments; anonymised aggregate counts may remain.

Your controls

  • Edit or delete your profile and posts at any time.
  • Block or mute any account from their profile; manage the lists in Settings → Privacy.
  • Report content or profiles for review.
  • Request a copy of your data or full deletion by contacting support from Settings.

Children

Zany is not intended for children under 13. Accounts found to belong to under-13 users are removed.

Security

Passwords are hashed by our authentication provider, images live in a private bucket served through short-lived signed URLs, and all money-related calculations (impressions, earnings, balances) happen on the server — never in your browser.
